Steven had managed to get his sisters to be free on the same day. It was a miracle in itself he was convinced of it though he had his ulterior motives for inviting them out as usual. The first was a general catch up about who, what, where, why’s and when’s of life for them both. The second was his own family news that the fire house knew but he wanted to get to his sisters before anyone else told them. He had tickets for the zoo later as he knew it had been a while since he had taken either of them there but then again they were old enough to go on their own but still the thought was there. Balloons and feeding random animals, well they could act like kids again at some point. His plan was a picnic and then the zoo, a chat about live and break the news then if he had to run there was a whole park to get through back to his car. The hard tracks made for easy access for Emily and the picnic table made it very, civilised as he arrived early to set things up. He had juice, sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, pies and practically every other finger food that was going. The one thing he never did was let anyone go home hungry no matter what. He got things set up on the table, thankful for the fact the weather was holding out with even some sunshine peeking through the cloud. He had let Isla and Emily know where he was as he waited for them to arrive. He ran over what he wanted to tell them in his head, they were going to be aunties and sure if he found out that any guy had done what had happened to Alyssa to his sisters. He would be finding them and killing them off. Steven also ran through the things that might have gone wrong with that as he was sure they had been careful but obviously not careful enough. He knew he was going to do his best by the two of them but being an actual dad, yeah he had no idea if that was even going to be something he could do. Emily and Isla had been alright but then they had years of their father to shape them before Steven did anything. That was that terrifying fact, the people he wanted to go to for advice one was gone and the other. Well their mother had never left the house so it was just complicated all around. If his sisters thought he had screwed up then that was the sum total of his family. No surely they would be okay about it all he told himself as he picked at a bag of crisps he had opened as he sat there stuck in his own head. No he would find out their news, try and work out if Isla or Emily had a boyfriend yet and then passively add his news and go right back to grilling the two of them. Change the subject, sure he could do that and if they were eating too, it was rude to yell at him and talk at the same time. Emily Hudson, Isla Hudson,

All the siblings had been so busy that it was rare these days that all three siblings were able to get together, so when Steven managed to pull it off, Isla was more than thrilled for the opportunity. She parked the Torino under a tree, then patted it on the hood before heading over to the table. It was good to be outside, and the day was really nice...it was just a good break from the routine of nursing, doing chores at home, stenography...well, she was going to quit that pretty soon, but she wanted to be secure in the nursing first, not that she doubted herself. She was doing great, and had no doubt that she was going to continue that way, so long as no one found out about the little incident in the decon room. And, she had some news of her own, but she would spring that when there was a good chance. "Hey, Big Brother!" she called as she approached and glommed onto him, hugging him tightly, "it's good to see you again! How's my Mustang?" Steven Hudson; Emily Hudson

[attr="class","box1"]Emily had been busy as of late. It hadn’t been that long ago that Josh had gotten left on a dock by his car after being betrayed by the thing and shown up at her door. Then there had been the whole system IT failure at work that had her super busy. She was glad to have time with family. Her brother and sister were everything to her. Emily looked up to Steven as both a brother and a father figure since their father’s death.
She pulled up right behind Isla and got out of her car and headed towards the two of them. Emily pulled herself to her feet at Pandora went to go sniff Isla. Hugging Isla first and then Steven, Emily was glad to see they were in decent health considering. Steven had been having too many accidents lately for her liking.

Steven had always tried to make time for family, sure their work rarely allowed for a lot of time but he had never been so glad to see his two sisters. If he had his way they never would have moved out but then, he was outvoted with that choice. Setting that aside Steven grinned seeing Isla first as he hugged her tightly and shook her a little. “Hey little sister, good to see you too and the Mustang is great. You’ve no idea how many date’s I’ve picked up with that thing... so much better than the Taurus.” Steven joked as well he was steady with the one girlfriend he was lucky enough to have. He was still waiting for the day she would wake up and find that she had made a mistake and run off. A little harder to do now given the situation but better not to lead right in with that one. “Speaking of, how is the Taurus? Not pink I hope?” He asked squinting at where she had parked, honestly if that car turned pink he was unsure what he would feel about it. It was that dependable thing in his life, that car was practically a family member and turning it pink. Nope that was his race car for a while and sure it might not be nought to sixty in three seconds more like thirty but he was about two months short of naming it and writing it a birthday card. “Emily!” He almost yelled as he hugged her too and did the same shaking hug he had done with Isla. Family, he could be his original brand of weird in front of them unashamedly. “You don’t call or write... where have you been?” Steven asked Emily though sure it was hardly like he had been devoid of contact with her, just life seemed to have a way of getting in the way. “I vote that you two move home because rent is soooo expensive and I can cook for you both and we can be that sibling group that turns ninety and miserable together?” He offered grinning at them both. “Because boyfriends for either of you are out of the question until the proper checks have been made... A.K.A meeting the crazy brother.” Steven announced deciding that it was the best way to fish for information, leave an option out there and have them tell him what was going on with each of them. He was mostly wishing for the sentence ‘yeah nothing to worry about, single and free’ though given everything he had been out of the loop on lately. He found himself doing his usual stare at each of them to see which one would offer up any information first. Isla Hudson, Emily Hudson,

“Hey little sister, good to see you too and the Mustang is great. You’ve no idea how many date’s I’ve picked up with that thing... so much better than the Taurus.”"Nothing wrong with the Taurus," Isla countered with a grin, "except maybe user error, you know." She gave him a teasing wink, letting him decide what, exactly she meant by that. Not that it was the first time she would bait him and certainly not the last! Heck, she lived by the motto, 'What was the good in having a brother if you didn't harass it?' Of course, she wasn't going to tell him about Fin just yet, mostly because there was nothing to tell and she didn't need him going all 'Big Brother' on her. “Speaking of, how is the Taurus? Not pink I hope?”"Noooo..." Putting on her best 'innocent' look, Isla batted her eyes, but then she laughed. "No, it's still classic 'Taurus Original', don't worry...I just had it buffed so it shines real nice now!" Then she saw her sister approach and ran to meet her beside her brother. “Emily! You don’t call or write... where have you been?”"Oh, my gosh!" Isla laughed as she took her turn at a hug, "Did you miss a day of texting?" “I vote that you two move home because rent is soooo expensive and I can cook for you both and we can be that sibling group that turns ninety and miserable together?”"Oh, well....your cooking...there's incentive!" Truth be told, Steven was actually a good cook, but again, there was no sense in passing on a good chance to torment him. "Of course, then he'd know everything about us!" “Because boyfriends for either of you are out of the question until the proper checks have been made... A.K.A meeting the crazy brother.”"Oh, don't worry, we've met the crazy brother, isn't that right, Sis?" Laughing, she nudged Emily then reached down to give the dog a scratch to its ears. "How about you?" she giggled, "are you Brother Approved'?" Emily Hudson, Steven Hudson,

[attr="class","box1"]Call or write, who wrote letters anymore. “Caught up at work.” She was always caught up at work with her head in the computer screen she unwrapped her arms from her brother and sat back down. Then he voted for them turning old and miserable together. She was fairly certain that she was not going to be moving back in with her brother. “I like the peace and quiet of my own place.” She pointed out. “Besides Pandora keeps me company.” She wanted him to know that she wasn’t old and lonely at the least. Though she was hardly going to mention Josh. Though she was pretty certain that he’d met Josh.
Emily wasn’t the type that could have information fished out of her easily. Sure Josh had been staying at her place lately, but that didn’t mean she had to disclose that information to Steven. He’d probably just nut up and not care if Josh had been stranded on the docks in the most dangerous part of town. It was usually best to just avoid talking about Josh to Steven. Even if she was incredibly happy. The fact she couldn’t share that with her family ate at her deep down. Why did she need anyone’s approval? If they couldn’t be happy for her, then… no she would just stomach her thoughts for the moment.
It was Isla’s elbowing her in the shoulder that made her chuckle. “I’m pretty sure he’s stuck with us for sisters regardless.” She shrugged and leaned on the back of her chair. She didn’t exactly come here to have Steven start world war five hundred over whichever of them was dating, so she kept an open mind for a good excuse to leave. Work always gave her a good one.

Steven laughed as he threw a fist at his heart. “Wow dagger to the heart right there. User error is for computers not the beloved Taurus.” He added chuckling, so sure he had a few user errors in his life time with that car but then that was how he knew it was the safest car his sister could have. Then again what would he do without his sisters bating him? There was no fun in that. “Yeah you know it’s true I feel harassed but then what good is having sisters if you can’t return the favour? I really should stop by Med more and check on you.” Steven added knowing he did that anyway. But he could always do it more just to make sure she was doing okay. Or just sticking his nose into her business which was a regular occurrence anyway. “See now I feel much better that it’s buffed and shined, now it shines safe and sound. The best car and not a dude magnet.” He added grinning at her when he watched his two sisters greet each other. Honestly there was nothing better than family and sure they might not all get on but try to go against any one of them and he was sure they would all be there in an instant. “Now what’s wrong with my cooking, you both lived through it so it has to be good right?” He added chuckling, there were a few missteps but then it was hardly too bad. “Emily really? You would want peace and quiet over me? Pandora can’t bug you like I can so why not come home and join in all of the fun.” He offered grinning though he was unsure what the two might think when he told them about the plus one that was going to be around the house in less than a year. He had even kept his mouth shut to their mother, it was easier to talk to his sisters than to talk to her about much of life. “Yeah I am stuck with you two, if it was up to me I would have traded you both but then who would I have to annoy? I’d have to adopt you both again which is just more of a headache.” He teased as he grinned sitting down as he glanced between the two of them. “Let’s not let the food waste to dig in.” He said deciding that neither sister could yell at him with food in their mouths. A fool proof plan. Emily Hudson, Isla Hudson, (OOC: Okay with me.)

"I get the feeling she's just happy not being bugged," Isla laughed as she settled onto one of the benches at the picnic table. "Nothing like some peace and quiet, and besides, we all know you'd whine about all the hair clogging the sink." She couldn't really remember the last time she'd been on a real picnic -- she could hardly count having a sandwich in the park at lunch -- much the less one with her siblings, and she was really glad that Steven had goaded her and Emily into doing this. "Somehow, I think you would have found a way to annoy us even if we weren't siblings," she observed, grinning. "It's just in your make-up. But remember," she added as she started loading food onto her plate, "one of these days I'm going to be an MICN and I can tell you what to do...like have you check your patient for hemorrhoids!" This was how they should be, the three of them getting together now and then, and she'd do her best to see that they didn't drift too far apart for too long. While they might not have always gotten along perfectly, they were still bonded by the loss of their father and the deterioration of their mother, and that was something that couldn't be broken.
